last sunrise in the harbor...

Spoken Note
Okay, so there's another little voice message. Good morning, dear people, I'll definitely be moving on again today. There's too much civilization for me here, it's too loud, it's totally crazy. Yesterday's journey was mixed, I'd say. I saw a burned-out mountain where a complete olive plantation had completely burned down a few days before. I somehow had the feeling, when I drove through the towns, that was pretty intense. Docks from a huge cruise ship, restaurants packed to the rafters, people somehow acting strange. I have no idea. In between I also had two places where I originally wanted to stop, which I then looked at and said, absolutely not. And when I was pretty exhausted yesterday, I found a small spot just before Korinth, in the Bay of Korinth, at an excavation site. And this is where I stayed. Sunset, sunrise. Yesterday I witnessed how one of the four fishermen who have their boats here went out and came back totally pissed off after two and a half hours. He checked his nets, came back empty-handed. And since I closed the shutters pretty early yesterday, I was of course awake pretty early this morning too and noticed how three of the four went out this morning. The one who was so angry yesterday had a small box with him today, didn't sell me any fish, it was too little, was really pissed off too. He was out with his father, so with two men. The second one who came back had five, six fish and said they're already ordered, he doesn't have enough anyway, can't sell them now. And then the third one came in, he had a bit more, he had maybe, I think, 20 kilos. Four different types. I treated myself to a small one for breakfast. He was happy that I gave him one euro more, thanked me, I don't know, 20 times for it. It's crazy to see that they're not catching anything here anymore. And what they do catch is just small. He had two large ones that were about 35 centimeters, well, let's say 40 centimeters, so about one and a half kilos. And those were also reserved, they go to some restaurant. Otherwise I've of course photographed a few small impressions from the road for you, things that caught my attention and where I also had the phone nearby to quickly photograph it, telegraph it, funny. So yes, that means I'll finish up Frenkie now, jump into my clothes, because I'm still in my sports gear, because they came back just as I was finished with my workout. And then it was first quickly about descaling the fish, gutting it and throwing it in the pan. It was tasty, definitely, it was really tasty. Of course I had a dog again this morning as company. He was pretty funny, a male. And now I'm heading via Korinth towards Piraeus. Let's see, maybe I'll drive to the port today and check out the ferry connections that go over to Kreta. Because all the other ferry connections that are normally cross-subsidized have all been discontinued long ago. So much for good prices and getting across cheaply, no chance. So only Piraeus remains. It's a 10 to 12-hour trip then. You can keep your fingers crossed that I get a good price. Anyway, I'm doing well. I hope you are too, wish you a fantastic start to the new week, one more smile and peaceful, joyful moments. See you then.
